Chaplaincy Course Offerings at Hartford Seminary

Chaplaincy Models and Methods
About the “29 Competencies” - this number comes from counting up the competencies listed here. For the program at Hartford Seminary, Lucinda Mosher has created a matrix that deletes the items that are not germane (like paying one’s professional society dues) and charts how each individual in the chaplaincy program is doing at attaining these competencies.

Chaplaincy Models and Methods (AM-602)

Hartford Seminary Week Workshop
Monday, January 12, 2015 – Thursday, January 15, 2015 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Friday, January 16, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

This course will provide an orientation to the role of the chaplain and methods suitable to the contexts in which chaplains characteristically serve including: schools, colleges, and universities; prisons; health care facilities; fire and police departments; and the military. Students will be introduced to the 29 competencies expected of board-certified chaplains (and valuable to all chaplains) and practical information for service in spiritually and culturally diverse contexts. (This course is required for all students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate Program in Chaplaincy in Multifaith Contexts.)

Camp Washington Chaplains Gathering

Dear Friends,

You are invited to a late breakfast with Bishop Laura Ahrens, Matt Cornish, and Melissa Haas to talk about chaplaincy at Camp Washington!

We have been blessed with fabulous chaplains at camp over the years! This breakfast at The Commons will be a chance for those of us who have served as chaplains to reconnect with friends and share ideas. If you have not served as a Camp Washington chaplain and would like to learn more about Chaplaincy, please join us as well.

We will talk about the dates of camp and the different Chaplaincy models. We can also brainstorm what we might do differently and explore what support and resources we might need to live most fully into this ministry.

Please join us at The Commons for breakfast at 9:00 am on Thursday, January 22, 2015 and RSVP via Eventbrite at https://campwashchaplains01-22-15.eventbrite.com

Snow date will be Thursday, February 5th at 9am.

If you have any questions please send them to Jody Wynn Rodiger at jrodiger@episcopalct.org

Thank you! We look forward to seeing you!

+Laura
